Here we are – the eve of a brand new year! I am constantly amazed at just how fast time flies!
For me, the beginning of a New Year has always been a time of mixed emotions – excitement about what was to come in the New Year and anxiety about what was to come in the New Year.
In spite of the anxiety, the New Year provides a time to find a new direction, summon a new determination, make improvements and with a positive attitude go forward! It gives an opportunity to renew passions for accomplishing goals and serving others.
Shepherd’s Cove is always honored to serve families in a very difficult time. Although we, as hospice servants, cannot change the outcome, we can definitely affect the journey. It is our passion to create life-changing experiences even in the difficult times. We can companion those on this hard journey so no one has to be alone in the difficult times. I know the staff and volunteers of Shepherd’s Cove – more importantly, I know their hearts. They want to serve because many have been served.
In 2020, Shepherd’s Cove celebrates serving communities in nine counties for 38 years! That was 38 years of anticipating excitement and anxiety. It has proven to be 38 years of comfort and help and support and sharing memories, hopes, and even laughter with many, many families. We are thankful we are given this opportunity. When we can’t add days to life, we can help add life to days. Thank you for those who have chosen to allow Shepherd’s Cove serve you.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
